Do the needles hurt?

This is a common question, as many people are used to the thick, perforated needles used for blood draws and other procedures. However, acupuncture needles are extremely thin and usually no needle sensation is felt, many patients are able to relax and sometimes even fall asleep during Acupuncture session.

What should I expect for the first treatment?

On the first treatment Dr. Dias, will take a complete health history and establish a complete evaluation and diagnosis of the issues you are seeking treatment for. During evaluation several diagnostics tests may be performed, including palpation, orthopedic and neurologic tests. After this, individualized treatment is performed. The initial treatment may last between 1 and 1.5 hours, and all follow- up treatments are about an hour.

How should I prepare for first treatment?

It always good idea to have a light healthy snack before treatment, as well as be hydrated, loose, comfortable fitting clothes is recommended.
