Meet Dr. Dias

Dr. David A. Dias, D.Ac, began working in healthcare when he was 17, in a physical therapy clinic as an aide and exercise specialist. Always, with the desire to help as many people as possible achieve their best health. He attained his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology, while working as a Certified Personal Trainer to those with injuries both physical and neurological. After working several years in several physical therapy and clinics and hospitals, he became interested in acupuncture, seeing many patients who had great results, especially those patients with tough to manage conditions. He also desired to treat the whole person holistically, on a physical and psychological basis, which with Acupuncture is indeed possible. He attained his Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and began as head acupuncturist for a large healthcare company. After finishing his Doctorate in Acupuncture, and after working several years for different large corporations, he decided to bring Acupuncture to Ironbound Newark, opening Ironbound Acupuncture and Wellness, down the street from his first job in a physical therapy office. Dr. Dias is born of immigrant parents and is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish, he can speak directly to patients and help them reach their health goals and relieve their pain, all naturally, many times avoiding surgery and excessive drug therapy. He believes in using evidence and research based Acupuncture, while still keeping true to holistic view of classical Acupuncture.

Specialties include: Any type of pain, acute or chronic; arthritis, tendonitis, sports and work injuries, digestive issues, neurological issues such as stroke and headaches / migraines, infertility and IVF support. Along with extensive experience treating psycho-emotional aspects such as anxiety and depression. Acupuncture plays a unique role in that it can help all these conditions naturally, and all at the same time.
